- Carlos' curiosity and passion for technology began in his early 20’s; he decided that a career in computers was his calling. Carlos acquired his first job in the IT industry building and repairing computer systems, and six months later he accepted a position working at the U.S. Department of Labor in a critical high-tech capacity. His dedication to excellence and support of client's needs, earned him a small "acknowledgment" from the Government. In 1995 the Advisory Council on Unemployment Compensation provided a report to the President and Congress and expressed its appreciation to a number of staff members including "... computer guru Carlos Soto-Garcia"1. Thirteen years later he transitioned into a similar position with the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Service. A few years later a Geeks On Call franchise was available in the Hagerstown area of Maryland, Carlos made the leap from corporate America to private ownership.
